As of this writing, I have been married for 16 years. My wife, Meloney, and I met when we were teenagers and I’ve been in love with her ever since. She is truly a gift from God!
While working on this album, we went through a lot together. As I have already said elsewhere, the recording of this album really took a toll on me physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, and she was with me every step of the way. I know that it’s not easy to love a guy like me sometimes, but after 16 years, she’s still here.
With this song, I just wanted to let her know how important she is to me. I do a LOT of stuff, and it all takes up a LOT of my time, but I still make room in my life for my wife and my children. Without them, I don’t know what I’d do.
lyrics
There have been times when I've fallen
There have been times when I didn't believe
Even though I didn't give much to you,
you have never given up on me.
You were there when the walls came crumbling down
You came running when I called to you
You are there when things are going right,
giving me your love.
So now it's my turn to give you all I have to give,
because you deserve so much more.
CHORUS 1: So with everything that's going on,
and with everything I've got to do,
don't worry about your place in my life,
because I'll always have room for you.
There's room for you.
You are the one I love the most
I don't have room for anybody else
You don't always hear just how I feel,
Because sometimes I forget to tell.
You're the one who means more to me
than anything else in this world.
I won't let anything get in the way
of giving you my love.
It's so easy for me to be busy with the things I do,
but they mean nothing without you.
CHORUS 2: So no matter what I have to face,
you'll always be here with me.
Nobody else could take your place,
because no matter what, there'll always be
room for you.
So now it's my turn to give you all I have to give,
because you deserve so much more.
