about

This is probably my favorite song on the album, as it is the most straight-forward worship song that I’ve put together. In fact, this song really isn’t a “Christmas” type of song at all.

I wrote this a few years back while I was recording my first solo CD. It was actually recorded during the sessions for The Calling, but the style of it just didn’t fit with the other songs on that album, so it went into the vault for a couple of years. When I began putting this album together, I pulled it back out and gave it a listen and felt that it was time for it to be heard.

This song was one of about 8 songs that I wrote around the same time with congregational singing in mind. Most of those songs were derived straight from scripture, but this one is special to me because it is my own heartfelt worship rather than the words of someone else. I just wanted to write a song expressing how I truly feel about Jesus. Like I said before, this song really isn’t a “Christmas” song, but I think it fits with the overall theme of the album. He is truly worthy of all our praise and more!

lyrics

All that I've ever longed to be
Can only be found in you
Nowhere on earth could I find someone
So loving and faithful and true

You are all that I live for
You are all that I believe
You are the water that quenches my thirsty soul
You're the air that I breathe

Chorus: Oh, you are worthy, Lord!
You are worthy, Lord!
You are worthy, Lord!
You are worthy now of praise!

More of you and less of me
Is what I want to show
The life-changing power of your love, oh Lord
Is what I want them to know

You are holy. You are loving.
You are more than I deserve
You are more than I could ask for
It's you I long to serve

Chorus 2x
