about

Musically, this song is the oldest on this album. Although the lyrics are fairly recent, this music was written almost 20 years ago. The original song was called “Living in Glory” and it was written for Ariel, the gospel quartet that I sang with at the time. We never recorded it, nor did we ever perform it. I think I have a demo recording of it hiding in the back of my vault somewhere, but anyway…

I always liked this music, but I wasn’t too crazy about the lyrics, so last year (while, of course, thinking of my lovely wife), I rewrote them as more of a love song.

This one is all about putting others first and yourself second. I have come to the conclusion that, when it comes right down to it, EVERY problem in this world is the result of selfishness. EVERY ONE! If people would just put others before themselves and be a little humble, it’s amazing how much better this world would be!

lyrics

I'm living for you.
I'm living for everything you are.
I'm giving you everything
I have to give.
I'm looking to you
for everything I need.
You are the only one
worth living for.

I know that without you
I'd be nothing at all.
I know there's nobody else
who could hear me when I call.

I'm living for you
and everything's going fine.
I'm better than ever before.
My life is good.
I've got no worries,
because you've taken them away.
You are the only one
worth living for.

I know that I can't
depend on just my own mind.
You are the greatest joy
that I could ever find.

I'm living for you.
I'm living for everything you are.
I'm giving you everything
I have to give.
I'm looking to you
for everything I need.
You are the only one
worth living for.
