about

King Solomon once said, "There's nothing new under the sun," and he was absolutely right. Life is a series of ups and downs and anything can change at a moment's notice. However, everything always comes back around, regardless of where life may choose to take you.

Although this song is the first on the album, it was nearly the last one written and recorded. I wrote this during the month and a half when my studio was out of commission and this project was in "digital limbo" due to a really bad technical mishap. I kept turning this idea over and over in my mind and this song was the result.

With all the stuff that I had to deal with during the 3 years of making the album, I felt like this song kind of summed it all up nicely. When I got the studio back up and running, this was the first thing that I tackled, and it set the tone for the rest of the sessions. Hopefully, it sets the tone for the rest of the album, too.

lyrics

I found myself creeping to the edge,
looking for something new.
I wanted something I had not seen.
I wanted more.
I thought I had seen enough,
day in - day out of the same old thing.
So I went looking around,
but I didn't know what for.

Why did I think there could be any more
to this life than this?
And how could what I already have
not be good enough?

CHORUS: I've come back around
to where I started from.
I know... it's been a long-time comin'.
There's nothing new
It's just the same old song.
It's all coming back to me now.

Here we go again:
looking for something to satisfy.
Going to the same old places
we've been to time after time.
There's no need to look around,
when all we need is right here.
There's nothing else
worth looking for.

Why did I think there could be any more
to this life than this?
And how could what I already have
not be good enough?

CHORUS

I've come full-circle.
My life has come full-circle.
