about

This is a song that was written in support of a great non-profit organization located in my hometown of Montgomery, Alabama. It's called Hope Inspired Ministries, and it was founded by a couple of friends of mine who really wanted to make an impact in the poor communities in Montgomery. H.I.M. is a ministry that focuses on the chronically unemployed... people who want to make a big change in their lives, but they're not sure exactly how to do it.

Hope Inspired Ministries gives people job skills, along with practical, common sense training that helps them become useful and productive members of society. And the best thing about the course (at least to those of us who are Christians) is that it also teaches them the Gospel and how biblical principles factor in to getting and keeping a job. The whole idea is to change people from the inside out. Pretty cool!

This song was inspired by the wonderful people at H.I.M. and my goal with the lyric was to give people an idea of what this great organization is all about.

lyrics

I know you're hurting
I know you're not where you want to be
But you don't know what to do
You don't know what to do
You need somebody
Someone who can show you where you need to go
That's why I'm reaching out to you
I'm reaching out to you

There's no need to be afraid
I'll lead you there...

Chorus: There's a place for you and a place for me
Where hope is waiting in the wings
Just take my hand and I'll show you the place
You've been waiting for
This place where you belong.

You're looking for hope
You want direction in your life
But you don't know where to turn
You don't know where to turn
I can show you
What it is you need to find
A place where you can grow and learn
Where you can grow and learn

There's no need to be afraid
I'll lead you there...

Chorus

Bridge: I want to inspire the hope in your heart
I want to give you a brand new place to start
Your life can begin again right here and now
Just let me guide you
Let me show you the way

Chorus
